You can’t wait for the day when you get to lace up your boots, fill your backpack with a pair of binoculars, camera and lunch and set out on the trail. One place that you may have been to before or might want to explore (again!) is the trails and waterways of the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area (CVWMA).
The CVWMA is a rich and biologically diverse 17,000 acre wetland habitat. This year, we are celebrating 40 years of wetland conservation and management. As stewards to the area, we manage for conservation and natural species diversity through active habitat and wildlife management, research, education and public support. Through these efforts, 372 species of birds, mammals, fish, amphibians and reptiles, not to mention the plants and invertebrate species, are interconnected in a complex web of live where each species depends on the other for survival.
