COMMUNITY IN BLOOM ACTION
A “BUTTERFLY GARDEN” is to be established at the Kootenay Gallery.
The Gallery plans to hold a fundraiser in late May and hopes to have the garden in place by then. Dates for the fundraiser and planting have still to be determined. Mary Kate Joensen has agreed to steer this project.

COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP events are planned for April 23 - 29. Home Hardware will contribute garbage bags as they did last year.

There will be a work party to clean up the area around the “old Fire Hall” on Columbia Avenue south, (by Andrew Sheret). Trowelex and Andrew Sheret companies are planning to work with a City of Castlegar crew on this endeavour on Saturday, April 29 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Interested in helping??

Why do we know all these things about Castlegar Communities in Bloom activities? Because our Elaine Robinson is one of the committee members.

and, basically, aren’t the FRIENDS OF PARKS and TRAILS ardent supporters in keeping our area clean? We have our own “clean-up” days, so it seems logical that we would join in with the CCIB in theirs. (CCIB? sounds a bit like a spy agency. No, sorry! simply means -- Castlegar Community in Bloom.)
