FRIENDS ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The AGM was held at the Castlegar Rec Centre on Feb. 21 with 19 members in attendance. President John Mansbridge was in the chair. Written reports were submitted and some of those reports are reprinted in this newsletter. Meetings and Newsletter dates: Meetings to be held on April 18th, Sept. 19th, and Nov. 21st. With the intent that newsletters be circulated prior to the meetings -- production dates have been set for April 7th, Sept. 8th, and Nov. 10th.

Election of Officers was conducted by Elaine Robinson with following results:
  • President ---John Mansbridge,
  • Vice President --- Gordon Hollingshead,
  • Secretary ---Ginny Brownlie,
  • Treasurer --- Paol Henriksen
  • Directors: Peter Wood, Lesley Killough, Dave Sharp, Ken Brownlie

For the upcoming 2006-2007 season, Bernice Kavic will remain as Treasurer’s Assistant ; Elaine Robinson continues as Editor of the newsletter and Jim Crawford will still be Production Mgr.

NOTICE HAS BEEN GIVEN THAT ELAINE, JIM, and BERNICE are planning on resigning their respective positions at the end of the 2006-2007 year. Interested in a job?

Friends Loses friends

FRIENDS LOSES TWO VERY GOOD FRIENDS

Mickey Jacobson has left us after a long and productive life. Mickey spent many years working for good education and community life for the Castlegar area.

She was one of the first to join Friends of Parks and always one of the first to pay her dues. She and her good friends came to smile and chat in support of any event where "Friends" took part.

Rest well, Mickey, you are a true citizen! Elaine Robinson

Joyce Adams was a very integral part of the Friends of Parks & Trails .. not just as a member, but as a worker. It is with much personal sorrow and regret that I record her death.

She was a valued friend and colleague and I cannot write about her with detachment. Joyce and John Adams are original members of Friends of Parks and Trails. Both have supported and participated actively in our endeavours and accomplishments. All of us at "Friends" extend thoughts and condolences to the Adams family.

Joyce will be well remembered; in time those memories will be with much joy despite the present sadness.
