The Recreation Centre-sponsored fall hiking group has a number of walks planned for the coming two months:
Sept 12 Columbia Trail (Ootischenia to Poupore and back)
Sept 19 Skattebo Reach (to the river and back)
Sept 26 Merry Creek
Oct 3 Yellow Pine Trail (Syringa Park)
Oct 10 Dove Hill
Oct 17 Blueberry to Fairview
Oct 24 People’s choice

All hikes are free; participants meet at the recreation complex prior to 9am (convoy leaves recreation complex at 9am sharp). Hikes range in length from 1 to 2 hours.

Brilliant Canyon section of Skattebo Reach Trail reopened
The section of the Skattebo Reach Trail from the Park and Ride at the Brilliant Bridge to the substation is now open. This section of trail has some slightly more challenging sections. Temporary closures may be required during Doukhobor Bridge restoration work but in the interim go out and enjoy this section of the trail again. Please note: this section is a little more challenging than other sections of the Skattebo Reach Trail with some uneven footing and steeper rocky sections – it may not be suitable for everyone.
