About the Friends of Parks & Trails

Friends of Parks and Trails is an umbrella organization which facilitates communication amongst various groups to support outdoor recreation and preserve heritage.

We encourage the use of parks and trails, help maintain them, and create new ones, all the while respecting the habitat and environment. We maintain a network of contacts with local, regional, provincial and national organizations seeking to encourage cooperation and unite efforts.

Members of our organization assist our endeavours by voluntary contributions of labour and/or financial donations in excess of the basic membership. We produce and distribute four editions of a Newsletter which usually contains a mix of practical, philosophical, and historic information. The production and distribution of the Newsletter is covered by the Basic Membership of $6.00. Voluntary premium memberships bring in revenue for the other aspects of our operations.

Obtain your Trans-Canada Trail clothing, brochures, Trails B.C. brochures, at the CPR station or directly from Friends of Parks. Buying at home helps local trail projects.
